Controversial rock star Seksan Sukphimai, also widely known as “Sek Loso”, was on Thursday jailed for one year and 18 months for violating the Firearms Act, obstructing a police operation with a threat of gun use, and drugs abuse.
This latest sentence will be added to the jail term of one year and three months plus a Bt2,000 fine that was given to him in 2016 for assaulting his ex-wife’s female close aid, and another jail term of five days and a Bt2,000 fine in March, for shooting a gun skywards in a Nakhon Si Thammarat temple on December 29, 2017.
The assault case punishment had been suspended for two years but since the rocker committed offences later it will now be enforced.
The result of an application for bail is expected later.
Bangkok’s Min Buri Provincial Court gave this latest verdict concerned an incident on New Year’s Eve 2018 when police tried to arrest the gun-wielding rocker at his home in Kannayao area. He obstructed police with a threat to use his unregistered gun. At the time, the rocker’s urine test result proved positive for narcotics substance abuse.
